Procrastination

Procrastination is to put off a required action until a future time. It means to defer or to postpone an event/action. It’s a character flaw that affects millions of people in every walk of life. It cuts across all areas of life, from accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour to attending to assignments by students and many other areas.
Procrastination is a sluggish and spiritless attitude to the things of God. “2 Ch 24:4 – 5  And it came to pass after this, that Joash was minded to repair the house of the LORD. And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.” Why do individuals then procrastinate ??
Because of personal convenience, Acts 24:25
Laziness, proverbs 26:13-16
Environmental distraction or societal distractions, beliefs or norms, Ecc 1:14
Family pressure or discouragement luke 9:59-62
Worldly entanglement, allowing worldly stance to override the things of the kingdom. Gen 19:21-22

Some few ways out of procrastination, but not limited to:
Using reminder mechanism as (notepad, memo pad alarm)
Set priorities appropriately
Proper planning of daily schedules and time, events and activities
Let’s focus on today and not tomorrow
Avoid events/activities which consume time unnecessarily e.g mobile phone, television and movies, internet etc
Remember we have limited time on earth & lets be committed to the things of God. Eccl 3:1; Isa. 56:12
Whatever we set out our mind to do for the kingdom, let’s do it now or the right time. Delay is dangerous
